Author Policy

    This Author Policy (“Policy”) governs the rights, responsibilities, obligations, and conduct of Authors (also referred to as “Sellers” or “Contributors”) who list, sell, or license digital products on Codoser.com (“Codoser,” “we,” “our,” “us”).

By registering as an Author on the Platform, uploading products, or participating in marketplace activities, you agree to comply fully with this Policy, along with our Terms of Use, License Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, KYC/AML Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and applicable laws.

This Policy applies globally and is designed to meet international and Indian legal standards for digital marketplaces.

 

1. Scope of the Policy

1.1 This Policy applies to all individuals and entities who register as Authors on Codoser to sell or distribute digital goods.
1.2 It covers product submission, pricing, licensing, compliance, revenue distribution, withdrawals, intellectual property obligations, and conduct.
1.3 It applies globally to authors irrespective of their country of residence.

 

2. Author Eligibility

2.1 Authors must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering binding contracts.
2.2 Entities registering as authors must be validly incorporated or registered under applicable laws.
2.3 Authors must provide accurate personal, business, and tax information during onboarding.
2.4 Additional verification (e.g., KYC/AML checks) may be required before listing products or receiving payouts.

 

3. Author Registration

3.1 Authors must create a valid Codoser account and select the “Author” role during or after registration.
3.2 All required onboarding forms and identity checks must be completed before author privileges are granted.
3.3 Failure to provide required information may result in account suspension or denial of author status.

 

4. KYC / AML Compliance

4.1 Authors must comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements as applicable under Indian and international laws.
4.2 Codoser may collect and verify identity documents, tax IDs, payment method ownership, and related information.
4.3 Failure to complete KYC/AML verification may result in payment delays or account restrictions.

 

5. Accuracy of Information

5.1 Authors must ensure that all information provided to Codoser (including legal name, payment details, tax IDs, and business information) is complete, accurate, and up to date.
5.2 Misrepresentation or failure to update information may lead to suspension or legal action.

 

6. Account Security

6.1 Authors are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts and credentials.
6.2 Any unauthorized activity must be reported immediately to Codoser.
6.3 Authors are liable for actions performed under their account until Codoser is notified.

 

7. Product Eligibility

7.1 Authors may list only digital products that comply with marketplace standards and relevant laws.
7.2 Products must be original, legally licensed, and free from malware, malicious code, or hidden functionality.
7.3 Content that violates intellectual property rights, promotes illegal activity, or contains offensive material is strictly prohibited.

 

8. Product Types Allowed

8.1 Eligible products include (but are not limited to):

  • Scripts and code files
  • Themes and templates
  • Plugins and addons
  • UI kits, graphics, design assets
  • Software and applications


8.2 Physical goods or services are not permitted unless explicitly authorized by Codoser.

 

9. Product Submission Process

9.1 Authors must use the designated product upload interface to submit items.
9.2 Each submission must include accurate titles, descriptions, documentation, demo links, and version information.
9.3 Products must pass manual or automated review before publication.

 

10. Review and Approval

10.1 Codoser reserves the right to accept, reject, or request modifications to any submitted product.
10.2 Rejection reasons will be communicated where feasible, but acceptance is not guaranteed.
10.3 Authors may resubmit modified versions for reconsideration.

 

11. Product Quality Standards

11.1 Products must meet minimum quality standards, including:

  • Functional and stable code
  • Proper documentation
  • Clean structure and naming conventions
  • Compatibility with advertised platforms
  • No unnecessary obfuscation unless justified (e.g., licensing mechanisms)


11.2 Poor-quality submissions may be rejected or removed.

 

12. Product Updates and Maintenance

12.1 Authors are responsible for maintaining their products and releasing updates when necessary (e.g., for bug fixes, security patches, or compatibility).
12.2 Failure to maintain products may result in removal from the marketplace.
12.3 Buyers must be notified of major updates where applicable.

 

13. Licensing Framework

13.1 All products must be sold under Codoser’s official licensing framework, which includes Regular and Extended Licenses.
13.2 Authors may not impose additional, conflicting license terms outside the platform without prior approval.
13.3 Any bundled third-party libraries must comply with their own license terms and must be disclosed.

 

14. Pricing

14.1 Authors may suggest a price for their products, subject to platform pricing guidelines and minimum thresholds.
14.2 Codoser reserves the right to set final pricing tiers, discounts, or adjustments to ensure marketplace consistency.
14.3 Authors cannot inflate prices artificially to manipulate commission or refund calculations.

 

15. Taxes and Invoicing

15.1 Authors are responsible for complying with applicable tax laws in their jurisdiction, including VAT, GST, or income taxes.
15.2 Codoser may collect and remit taxes as required by law (e.g., GST, VAT).
15.3 Invoices to buyers may be issued by Codoser, the author, or both, depending on the transaction structure.

 

16. Revenue Share Model

16.1 Revenue from sales is shared between the author and Codoser based on a pre-defined commission structure.
16.2 Commission rates depend on author level, performance, or promotional arrangements.
16.3 Authors can view real-time earnings and reports in their dashboards.

 

17. Payout Schedule

17.1 Author earnings are available for withdrawal according to Codoser’s payout schedule (e.g., monthly or biweekly).
17.2 Minimum payout thresholds apply; unpaid balances carry forward automatically.
17.3 Payout delays may occur due to fraud checks, KYC issues, or gateway failures.

 

18. Payment Methods

18.1 Authors may select from approved payment methods (e.g., bank transfer, PayPal, payment gateways).
18.2 All accounts must belong to the verified author or entity.
18.3 Codoser may refuse unsupported or unverifiable payment methods.

 

19. Refunds and Author Responsibilities

19.1 Authors must cooperate fully with Codoser during refund investigations.
19.2 If a refund is approved, the author’s share of earnings for that transaction will be reversed.
19.3 Repeated refund disputes caused by poor product quality or misrepresentation may result in penalties.

 

20. Product Support Obligations

20.1 Authors are responsible for providing reasonable support to buyers as per their product listing.
20.2 Support may include installation guidance, bug fixes, or usage clarification, but not custom development.
20.3 Failure to provide support may affect ratings and future eligibility.

 

21. Intellectual Property Ownership

21.1 Authors must own or have appropriate rights to all elements of their products.
21.2 Submitting infringing content is strictly prohibited and may lead to takedowns, legal action, or permanent bans.
21.3 Authors grant Codoser a non-exclusive license to display, market, and distribute their products on the platform.

 

22. DMCA and Takedown Compliance

22.1 Authors must respect the intellectual property rights of others.
22.2 If a DMCA or similar legal notice is received, Codoser may temporarily remove the product pending investigation.
22.3 Repeated or willful infringements may lead to account termination.

 

23. Prohibited Content

23.1 Authors may not upload products that contain or promote:

  • Pirated or nulled software
  • Malware, viruses, or tracking without consent
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or illegal content
  • Misleading or deceptive claims


23.2 Violations may lead to immediate removal and legal action.

 

24. Marketing and Promotion

24.1 Authors may promote their products externally but must use accurate information and approved branding.
24.2 Misrepresentation of pricing or product features outside Codoser is prohibited.
24.3 Authors may not use spam or unethical marketing methods.

 

25. Exclusive and Non-Exclusive Selling

25.1 Authors may choose to sell exclusively on Codoser (eligible for better commissions) or non-exclusively (allowed to sell elsewhere).
25.2 Exclusive authors must adhere to exclusivity terms; violations may result in commission clawbacks or penalties.

 

26. Product Removal by Authors

26.1 Authors may request to remove their products at any time, subject to reasonable notice.
26.2 Buyers who have already purchased the product retain their licenses even after removal.
26.3 Refund obligations for prior sales remain valid.

 

27. Platform Removal Rights

27.1 Codoser reserves the right to remove or delist any product at its discretion, including for legal, quality, or compliance reasons.
27.2 Authors may be notified, except in urgent legal situations.
27.3 Removal does not automatically terminate author accounts unless warranted.

 

28. Account Suspension and Termination

28.1 Author accounts may be suspended or terminated for violations, including:

  • Fraud or misrepresentation
  • Repeated policy breaches
  • Legal violations
  • Excessive refund or complaint rates


28.2 Upon termination, pending earnings may be held or forfeited depending on the reason.

 

29. Communication with Buyers

29.1 Authors must communicate with buyers only through approved channels.
29.2 Spam, harassment, or solicitation for off-platform payments is prohibited.
29.3 All communications may be monitored for compliance and security.

 

30. Compliance with Laws

30.1 Authors must comply with all applicable laws in their jurisdiction and in the jurisdictions where buyers reside.
30.2 This includes IP laws, export controls, taxation, consumer protection, and digital content regulations.
30.3 Ignorance of the law is not an excuse for non-compliance.

 

31. Tax Compliance and Withholding

31.1 Authors are responsible for complying with tax obligations in their home country and any other relevant jurisdictions.
31.2 Codoser may withhold taxes on behalf of tax authorities if legally required (e.g., Indian GST, TDS, international withholding).
31.3 Authors must provide valid tax information to avoid excessive withholding.
31.4 Failure to comply with tax reporting obligations may result in payout holds or account suspension.

 

32. Anti-Fraud and Anti-Abuse Measures

32.1 Authors must not engage in fraudulent activities, including but not limited to:

  • Fake purchases to inflate sales
  • Collusion with buyers to exploit the refund system
  • Uploading plagiarized or nulled content
  • Misreporting earnings


32.2 Codoser employs automated and manual mechanisms to detect suspicious behavior.
32.3 Confirmed fraud may lead to permanent bans and legal consequences.

 

33. Prohibition on Circumventing the Platform

33.1 Authors are prohibited from circumventing Codoser’s payment or licensing systems by soliciting off-platform sales, encouraging direct contact for purchases, or providing external links for transactions.
33.2 Such actions undermine marketplace integrity and may result in immediate account termination.
33.3 The authors found that diverting customers will forfeit earnings related to such activities.

 

34. Confidentiality Obligations

34.1 Authors may receive confidential information from buyers or Codoser (e.g., sales data, licensing details, business metrics).
34.2 Authors must protect such information and use it only for legitimate marketplace activities.
34.3 Unauthorized disclosure may lead to legal action.

 

35. Data Protection and Privacy

35.1 Authors must comply with applicable data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, IT Rules) when handling buyer information.
35.2 Buyer data provided via Codoser (e.g., email for license verification) must be used strictly for support and licensing—not for marketing unless explicit consent is given.
35.3 Authors are considered independent data controllers for their own activities and must maintain adequate security practices.

 

36. Buyer Support Standards

36.1 Authors must maintain professional and respectful communication with buyers.
36.2 Support requests should be answered within a reasonable timeframe (e.g., 1–3 business days).
36.3 Authors may not harass, abuse, or retaliate against buyers who raise complaints or request refunds.

 

37. Ratings and Feedback

37.1 Buyers may leave public ratings and reviews on products.
37.2 Authors must not attempt to manipulate feedback, including incentivizing positive reviews or posting fake reviews.
37.3 Authors may respond to reviews professionally but cannot threaten or harass reviewers.

 

38. Dispute Resolution Between Authors and Buyers

38.1 If a buyer raises a complaint or refund request, authors must cooperate fully with Codoser’s investigation.
38.2 Authors are expected to attempt resolution in good faith before escalation.
38.3 Codoser’s final decision in disputes is binding within the platform.

 

39. Platform Communication

39.1 Important policy updates, account notices, or payout information may be communicated to authors via email or dashboard notifications.
39.2 Authors are responsible for monitoring these communications regularly.
39.3 Failure to read notifications will not exempt authors from compliance.

 

40. Platform Promotions and Discounts

40.1 Codoser may run platform-wide promotions, discounts, or campaigns.
40.2 Authors may be invited or automatically enrolled, depending on program type.
40.3 Authors will be informed about pricing implications and expected to honor promotional pricing during campaign periods.

 

41. Participation in Affiliate Programs

41.1 Authors may participate in Codoser’s affiliate programs as both sellers and promoters.
41.2 Affiliates must follow all affiliate program rules separately.
41.3 Self-referrals or manipulative tactics to earn affiliate commissions on one’s own products are prohibited.

 

42. Handling Intellectual Property Disputes

42.1 If an IP dispute arises concerning an author’s product, the author must provide supporting documentation (e.g., proof of ownership, licenses).
42.2 Failure to provide satisfactory proof may result in product removal or account suspension.
42.3 Repeated IP disputes will lead to stricter scrutiny and possible termination.

 

43. Consequences of Policy Violations

43.1 Violating this Policy may result in actions including:

  • Product removal
  • Temporary or permanent account suspension
  • Forfeiture of earnings
  • Legal action


43.2 Severity depends on the nature and frequency of the violation.

 

44. Termination of Author Accounts

44.1 Authors may terminate their account voluntarily by submitting a formal request.
44.2 Upon termination, any remaining earnings will be settled according to payout schedules and refund liabilities.
44.3 Codoser may terminate accounts for violations, inactivity, or legal obligations.

 

45. Post-Termination Obligations

45.1 Authors must honor existing buyer licenses even after product removal or account termination.
45.2 Any outstanding disputes, refunds, or legal matters remain binding post-termination.
45.3 Authors must not misrepresent their past affiliation with Codoser after termination.

 

46. Export Control and Sanctions Compliance

46.1 Authors must not offer or distribute products in violation of export control laws, trade sanctions, or embargoes.
46.2 Authors are responsible for ensuring their activities comply with international trade regulations.

 

47. Representations and Warranties by Authors

47.1 Authors represent and warrant that:

  • They own or have the rights to sell their products.
  • Products do not infringe any third-party rights.
  • Information provided is accurate and not misleading.


47.2 Breach of these warranties may result in immediate termination and legal action.

 

48. Limitation of Liability

48.1 Codoser is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from author activities.
48.2 Authors remain solely responsible for their products, support, and legal compliance.
48.3 Platform liability is limited to amounts owed to the author for unpaid earnings.

 

49. Indemnification

49.1 Authors agree to indemnify and hold harmless Codoser, its officers, employees, and affiliates against claims arising from:

  • Their products or content
  • Breach of this Policy or other platform policies
  • Violation of laws or third-party rights


49.2 Codoser may assume exclusive defense of such claims if necessary.

 

50. Relationship Between Author and Codoser

50.1 Authors are independent sellers, not employees, agents, or legal partners of Codoser.
50.2 Nothing in this Policy creates a joint venture, franchise, or employment relationship.
50.3 Authors are fully responsible for their business activities and legal compliance.

 

51. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

51.1 This Policy is governed by the laws of India and applicable international laws.
51.2 Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction defined in the Terms of Use.
51.3 Local consumer or IP laws may also apply depending on the buyer’s location.

 

52. Policy Review and Updates

52.1 This Policy is reviewed periodically to ensure compliance with legal and business changes.
52.2 Authors may be notified of significant updates via email or dashboard announcements.

 

53. Non-Compliance Due to Legal Orders

53.1 If Codoser must act on legal orders (e.g., takedowns, tax demands), such actions are not considered policy violations by the platform.
53.2 Authors are expected to comply with these legal directives.

 

54. Transfer of Author Accounts

54.1 Author accounts are personal and non-transferable.
54.2 Transfers may be allowed only in cases of verified business acquisitions with Codoser’s prior approval.

 

55. Recordkeeping

55.1 Authors must retain records of their transactions, licenses, and legal compliance for audit and regulatory purposes.
55.2 Codoser may request documentation during investigations or legal inquiries.

 

56. Accessibility of Policy

56.1 This Policy is available publicly and clearly for authors to review before and during their participation.
56.2 Authors are responsible for familiarizing themselves with its contents.

 

57. Severability

57.1 If any provision of this Policy is found invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in effect.
57.2 Invalid provisions will be replaced with enforceable terms closest in intent.

 

58. No Waiver

58.1 Failure by Codoser to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of future enforcement of that or any other provision.

 

59. Policy Modifications

59.1 Codoser reserves the right to modify or update this Policy at any time without prior notice.
59.2 Authors are responsible for checking updates periodically.
59.3 Continued listing or selling after changes constitutes acceptance.

 

60. Author Acknowledgment

60.1 By registering as an author, uploading products, or continuing to use the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy and all related platform rules.
60.2 Compliance with this Policy is a mandatory condition for maintaining author privileges on Codoser.
